Philadelphia Loses, 7-3, in 10
|
The St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies duked it out at Citizens Bank Park.
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3, in 10 innings at Citizens Bank Park. Josh Knight, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-5 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The win gives St. Louis a season record of 71-49.
Rich Rivas came through with a big-time hit for St. Louis. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Philadelphia manager John Lucidi.
