The Chicago Cubs earned a win at PNC Park, stopping the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-2. Starting pitcher Brian Martinko played a big role in his team's success. Andrew Gray notched his 37th save of the season. By defeating Pittsburgh, the second-place Cubs improved to 67-52.

Chicago used a timely hit from Manuel Jimenez to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Martinko.
