Royals Handed 7-4 Loss by Milwaukee
|
Milwaukee picked up a win at Miller Park, bumping off the Kansas City Royals, 7-4. Pitcher Ray Dunham was a major reason the Brewers emerged victorious. Jim Rainey earned the save for Milwaukee, his 26th. The Brewers go to 43-77, putting them last in the National League Central Division.
Dennis Schickel had a big run-scoring double for the Brewers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Milwaukee leading 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he got a splitter from Bill Fike, who led the AL in ERA with 2.85 in 2106, and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brewers ahead, 4-2.
"It never gets old," said Schickel. "Winning, that is."
