Brown Leads Cardinals to 6-4 Win Over Rockies
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies, 6-4, at Busch Stadium. Justin Brown, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. St. Louis reliever Steve Gbur picked up the win, upping his record to 8-6. Jacob Caba was saddled with the loss. The Cardinals, at 66-54, sit in third place in the National League Central Division.

Had Brian Forrey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Forrey hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Cardinals.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Cardinals manager Leyland Thomas.
