Arizona Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
Seattle Mariners pitcher Ivan Juarez was in top form, leading his team past the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-0. The last-place Mariners now have a record of 49-70.
Seattle won the game in part because of Conor Long. The right fielder ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 5-0. For the game, Long had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"Ivan's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Seattle manager Jim McClintic.
