Red Sox Zap Yankees, 6-3
|
Boston Red Sox starter Phil Ashworth pitched a strong game against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium, leading the Red Sox to victory, 6-3. The save went to Danny Urista, number 14 for him. Boston, now 66-54, holds down second place in the American League East Division.
Boston used the bat of Tyler Brown to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Brown said. "And the same is true when you lose."
