Texas Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers, pitcher Richard Clare was superb. The Los Angeles right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Joe Duncan got credit for the save for Los Angeles. It was his 4th of the year. The 4th-place Rangers dropped to 59-62.
The Angels got a big at-bat from first baseman Sho Yasunaga. For the game, Yasunaga was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 27th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Clare said.
