Baltimore Dispatched, 7-2, by Oakland
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Josh Nightingale, the Oakland Athletics defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 7-2. Nightingale was 3-3 with a triple, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 for the Athletics. The Athletics now have a mark of 73-50.
Oakland won the game in part because of Blake Zobel. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Athletics ahead, 4-0. For the game, Zobel had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Zobel.
