Getting a good performance from designated hitter Willie Valiente, the Houston Astros defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 9-6. Valiente went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Astros. The win elevated the Astros to 68-55.

Houston took the lead on Valiente's 32nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Franklin Ayala in the bottom of the seventh, made the score 7-6, Houston.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Valiente told the Houston Bulletin.
