The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, dropping the Cincinnati Reds, 6-3. Jason Romanchik, who led the NL in ERA with 2.26 last year, was the difference-maker. Benny Morgan earned the save for St. Louis, his 29th of the year. With the victory, the Cardinals upped their record to 72-52.

Dave Smeal contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped St. Louis get the win.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Smeal told the St. Louis Observer.
