Rangers Beat Yankees, 6-2
|
The performance of Simeone DeVito proved critical in helping Texas beat New York, 6-2. The Rangers left fielder went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Texas, at 67-58, occupies second place in the American League West Division.
With Texas leading 2-0 in the top of the second, DeVito hit a changeup from Dave Linkous for a grand slam home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 6-0.
DeVito told a Texas Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
