The 16-7 Cleveland win over Toronto was due largely to Bill Barnie. The Guardians center fielder was 2-4 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Cleveland's record now stands at 58-66, placing them 4th in the American League Central Division.

Tied up with the Blue Jays in the top of the fifth inning, the Guardians got a boost from right fielder Spencer Fishwick. With the bases loaded, Fishwick saw a 2-2 sinker from Victor Urueta and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Cleveland on top, 9-7.

Barnie told a Cleveland Bulletin reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
