Cubs Topple Brewers, 9-3, as Osborne Shines
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers.

Jeff Osborne, who finished 5th in the NL in slugging percentage with .579 in 2107, knocked in 3 runs to help the Chicago Cubs win, 9-3, over the Milwaukee Brewers. The winner in relief was Sam Delcour. He is now 3-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Nankai Hudkins, who is tied for 6th in the NL in stolen bases with 40, hit a triple. The Cubs went on to win.

Osborne said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.

The third-place Cubs now have a record of 68-55.
