Led by Randy Wilson, the San Diego Padres downed the Las Vegas Hustle, 8-5. Wilson was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Padres. The Padres sit in second place in the National League West Division with a record of 74-50.

San Diego used the clutch hitting of Brent Shipley to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Padres ahead, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Shipley said.
