Orioles Rally to Nose Past Texas
|
The Baltimore Orioles stopped the Texas Rangers, 5-4, in 13 innings at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Orioles got a big game from Joe Maxwell, who went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Baltimore reliever John Deaton picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Mike DuFresne absorbed the loss. Baltimore is 64-61 and Texas, with the loss, 65-61.
Maxwell delivered in the clutch for Baltimore. In the bottom of the 13th, he took a first pitch fastball from Texas pitcher Mike DuFresne and parked it over the fence. The solo home run won it for Baltimore.
"The crowd lost its ever-loving mind tonight," said a grinning Maxwell.
