Nationals Stick Mets with 8-3 Loss
|
The Washington Nationals downed the New York Mets, 8-3. The hitting star was first baseman Joaquin Reyes. Reyes went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Nationals. Washington pitcher Billy Lantry got the win. He's now 2-3. Matt Lemke was tagged with the loss. The win makes Washington 59-67.
Washington got a big at-bat from Atlanta, Georgia native Jesse English, who in the bottom of the first hit a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Reyes.
