The Detroit Tigers and starting pitcher Jen-kan Tow stifled the Chicago offense en route to a comfortable 9-0 win at Comerica Park. The winning pitcher was Tow, now 7-9. He tossed 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The Tigers go to 60-65, putting them 4th in the American League Central Division.

Jeff Hennessey had a big 2-run triple for the Tigers in the bottom of the first inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Pedro Sandoval and swatted a triple to left. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 3-0.

"Awesome outing. Jen-kan was on top of them all night long," said Detroit manager Chris Gasparro.
