Rays Lose to Blue Jays in Walk Off
The Tampa Bay Rays got a superb performance from pitcher Ron Stein. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Toronto. The Blue Jays won the game, 2-1. Stein threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Toronto goes to 81-45. The win puts them 11½ games up in their division.

John Slaff was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

In postgame remarks, Slaff said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
