The Minnesota Twins topped the Kansas City Royals, 8-0, in American League action at Target Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Minnesota pitcher Dean Schuurmans. Schuurmans picked up the win for Minnesota, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 13-4. Tied up with the Royals in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Twins got a boost from first baseman Vince Aristondo. With the bases loaded, Aristondo saw a 0-1 fastball from Scott Bowling and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Minnesota on top, 2-0.
