The Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers, 9-5, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Seattle first baseman Billy Barnhart had an outstanding performance. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Mariners improved their record to 48-76 with the win over Texas.

Andy Alford helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Seattle a 2-0 lead.
