Orioles Slap 7-0 Loss on Texas
|
The Baltimore Orioles downed the Texas Rangers, 7-0, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Nick Cheney led the way, going 2-for-4 for Baltimore. The second-place Orioles sport a record of 69-57.
Colin Hanna had a big 2-run double for the Orioles in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Darius Shaheed, who finished 3rd in the NL in wins with 16 in 2106, and swatted a double to right. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orioles ahead, 3-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Baltimore manager Art Matlock.
