Athletics Collect 6-4 Win Over Astros
|
The Oakland Athletics beat the Houston Astros, 6-4, at Minute Maid Park. Pat Wilson, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Dana Joseph was credited with the save, his 10th in 14 tries. The Athletics' win now puts them at 48-78.
Wilson had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a full count fastball from Josh Jones, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Athletics a 6-4 lead. It was the 30th home run of the year for Wilson.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Athletics manager Jon Pearson. "This one was nice to get."
