Reds Prevail, 3-1, Over Las Vegas
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the Las Vegas Hustle, 3-1, in National League action at Las Vegas Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Cincinnati pitcher and Fruitvale, Colorado, native Kyle Gruhlke. Corey Comer recorded the save for Cincinnati, his 42nd of the season. Cincinnati is in third place in the National League Central Division with a record of 68-58.
It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Bobby Rossi, the 27-year old shortstop . Rossi contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put Cincinnati up, 1-0.
"I thought we competed really well," said Reds manager BJ Gorman. "I thought the energy was really good."
