Kansas City Beats Cleveland, 6-2
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Steve Gass, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 6-2. Gass was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Royals. Antonio Aguilar, now 10-11, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The Royals raised their record to 65-64.
With Kansas City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Gass hit a changeup from Kenny Guerrero for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Royals ahead, 3-0.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Gass told the Kansas City Chronicle.
