Fans saw a dandy of a game between the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies.

The New York Mets overcame a good performance by Colorado first baseman Jake Everett to knock off Colorado, 4-3, at Citi Field. Everett was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. Jason Boles, now 2-3, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0.

New York took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Scott Hatcher hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Mets fans to their feet.

Said losing manager Trevor Taka: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."

The 4th-place Mets have a record of 61-66.
