Brewers Win, 5-1, Over Washington
|
The Milwaukee Brewers dumped the Washington Nationals, 5-1, in large part due to first baseman Mikizo Kubo. On the day, Kubo went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Brewers. Ryan Silton finished to wrap up his 15th save. Milwaukee is in 4th place in the National League Central Division with a record of 52-75.
With Milwaukee leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Kubo hit a sinker from Thomas Strange for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 3-0.
"We played hard and won," said Kubo. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
