Cardinals Drop 3-1 Decision to Reds
|
The first-place Cincinnati Reds picked up another win.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Cincinnati Reds and the St. Louis Cardinals, Israel Castillo was the difference-maker. The Cincinnati right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Earning his 6th save for Cincinnati was Paul Edler.
Tim Mercer had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for Cincinnati. He came through with a 2-run single to put Cincinnati in front, 3-0.
Castillo said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Cincinnati is now 86-40, St. Louis 49-78.
