Royals Take Home 3-1 Win Over Houston
|
Antonio Aguilar was locked and loaded, helping the Kansas City Royals beat the Houston Astros, 3-1. In 7.1 innings, Aguilar surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The save was credited to Ryan Washington, his 24th.
Kansas City took the lead, 3-1, on Josh McElwain's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Houston pitcher Kihachi Okuhara in the bottom of the seventh.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Kansas City manager Connor Gould said.
The third-place Astros dropped to 57-71.
