Perez Powers Orioles Offense
The Baltimore Orioles beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-5, at Busch Stadium. Baltimore center fielder Luis Perez led the way. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The second-place Orioles are now 71-57, the Cardinals 61-67.

Baltimore used the timely hitting of Ryoma Nakashima to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Orioles on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Leyland Thomas, the St. Louis manager.
