Orioles Score 6-2 Win Against St. Louis
|
The Baltimore Orioles faced a tough opponent in St. Louis pitcher Jason Romanchik, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Busch Stadium by a final score of 6-2. Romanchik went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Baltimore is now 59-69, St. Louis 70-58.
Baltimore used the clutch hitting of Brian Garrett to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We had a nice day," said Baltimore skipper Art Matlock.
