Mets Lose to Pirates, 5-0
Pittsburgh turned a good effort from starter Russ Einhorn into a win over the New York Mets at PNC Park. The Pirates won the game, 5-0. Willie Lopez closed the door for Pittsburgh, picking up his 29th save of the year. Pittsburgh now sports a record of 68-60.

The tide might have turned in the top of the fifth, had not Russ Einhorn made a big pitch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Mets trailing 2-0, he retired Thomas Laviosa when the New York catcher hit into a double play.
