Streaking Twins Win Another One, 5-3
|
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Texas Rangers, 5-3. Doing his part was second baseman Nate Carpenter, who was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Minnesota reliever Ken Poole snagged the win, upping his record to 8-2. Nick Jenkins shouldered the loss. The winning streak has now reached 11 games for Minnesota.
With Minnesota trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Carpenter hit a changeup from Nick Jenkins for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-2.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Carpenter.
