Rangers Get Stopped by Twins, 6-5
|
The Minnesota Twins besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Texas third baseman Travis Huffman by beating the Rangers, 6-5, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Huffman was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dale Tatem, now 6-0, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Minnesota currently is in third place in the American League Central Division at 69-60.
It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Jon Morris, the 23-year old second baseman . Morris contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Minnesota up, 6-5.
Said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
