Martin Hits for the Cycle
|
Fred Martin showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline at Nationals Park, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the Milwaukee win.
The 29-year-old second baseman went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Brewers top the Washington Nationals by a score of 11-0. A jubilant Martin told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable."
"Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-5 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible."
For the day, Martin finished with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits.
Fred Martin hit a solo-shot off Mike Rios in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season in 68 games, Martin is batting .276 with 1 home run, 12 RBIs and has scored 25 times.
