Kenealy Drills 2 Homers in 9-1 San Diego Win
|
Jeremy Kenealy powered the San Diego Padres to a win over the Toronto Blue Jays. The final score was 9-1. The San Diego first baseman, who finished 3rd in the NL in RBI with 120 in 2106, was phenomenal. He stroked 3 extra-base hits, including 2 home runs and 1 double. The win belonged to Vinny Herrick in relief. His record improves to 11-18. Eric Ferguson took the loss for Toronto. With the win, the Padres have a record of 78-50.
With San Diego leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Kenealy hit a slider from Eric Ferguson for a bases-clearing double. It was his 45th double of the season and put the Padres ahead, 5-1.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Kenealy.
