Dodgers Dismiss Giants, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants, pitcher Robby Thienes was the difference between victory and defeat. The Los Angeles left-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Dodgers win. The 4th-place Giants have lost 4 straight games.
John Kieler, who is on pace for 77 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Kieler contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-1.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said San Francisco manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon. "We just didn't cash in."
