Milwaukee Dismisses St. Louis, 6-3
|
Milwaukee Brewers starter Wally Sharp pitched a strong game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium, leading the Brewers to victory, 6-3. Sharp, now 7-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Jim Rainey was called on to finish, recording his 27th save.
Milwaukee catcher Casey Keasling contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 68th hit of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 3-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Keasling.
Milwaukee bumps their record to 45-84 with the win.
