The Boston Red Sox beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-0, at Chase Field. Boston left fielder Alex Salazar had an outstanding performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Phil Ashworth picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 9-6. With the win, the Red Sox have a record of 71-58.
In the first inning, Salazar had a 3-run home run for Boston. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Red Sox on top, 4-0.
