Milwaukee Loses, 9-8, Despite Walsh Performance
|
The Cincinnati Reds withstood an impressive performance by Milwaukee first baseman Eric Walsh to defeat the Brewers, 9-8, at Miller Park. Walsh slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win went to Bryan Brown in relief, making him now 9-7. Juan Estrada took the loss for Milwaukee. After today's action, Cincinnati sits at 74-56; Milwaukee slips to 50-80.
Cincinnati center fielder Gary Arbogast helped the Reds go up, 7-5, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Arbogast hit a 2-run single off Milwaukee pitcher Juan Estrada.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager BJ Gorman said.
