The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies, 6-5, in part because of center fielder Dave Ritch. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Cardinals, at 74-57, sit in third place in the National League Central Division.

Ritch had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Ethan Moorer, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Cardinals a 6-5 lead. It was the 26th double of the year for Ritch.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Ritch.
