The Minnesota Twins used the hitting of third baseman Bret McBride to subdue the Boston Red Sox, 4-3. For the game, McBride went 3-5 with 2 home runs. Billy Hinson, who finished 3rd in the AL in extra base hits with 84 in 2107, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hinson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Minnesota up, 4-3.
