The St. Louis Cardinals racked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-5, in 11 innings. Jason Weisel, who started for St. Louis, pitched effectively for his team. The 4th-place Cardinals now have a win-loss record of 71-60.

The Cardinals got a clutch hit from right fielder Ryan Dooley. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Cardinals.

"They tested our mettle," said Weisel. "But that's good. It toughens us up."
