Mets Topple Reds, 6-3
|
No one was more impactful than Marty Krpan in the 6-3 New York win over Cincinnati. Krpan went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Dave Baldwin, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 6-9. Luis Manzano notched his 1st save in 2 chances.
Ryan Taylor drove in one run for New York. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Steve Thornton. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Taylor. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
With the win, the Mets have a record of 47-83.
