The Minnesota Twins took Oakland pitcher Dean Thomas's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Target Field. The final score had Minnesota getting past the Athletics, 4-3. Thomas went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 2. Minnesota is now 72-60, Oakland 70-60.

Minnesota went in front, 4-3, on Brian Duncan's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Duncan hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Oakland pitcher Dean Thomas visibly perturbed.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Duncan. "I just want to win ballgames."
