Orioles Suffer Blowout Loss to Royals
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old first baseman Jorge Castillo, the Kansas City Royals stopped the Baltimore Orioles, 11-1. Kansas City reliever Aubrey Pettey picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jarrett Lazarony was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Royals record now stands at 60-71.
Kansas City used a well-timed hit by Mike Andreas to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Royals ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Kansas City manager Connor Gould.
