Larson Impresses as Angels Knock Off Rays, 5-1
|
The Los Angeles Angels converted a terrific effort from starter John Larson into a win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The Angels won the game by a final score of 5-1. The Angels upped their record to 59-72.
Larson was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 14-7. In 8 innings of work, Larson gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 6. The Rays were never able to generate much offense.
"John did a heck of a job," said Los Angeles manager Matt Moore.
