Blue Jays Win, 4-2, Extend Streak to 10 Games
|
The performance of Josh Sherman proved critical in helping Toronto beat Oakland, 4-2. The Blue Jays third baseman went 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jason Hudgins was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. The win makes Toronto 88-45.
The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from center fielder John Slaff. For the game, Slaff was 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 24th home run of the season gave Toronto a 3-2 lead.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Blue Jays manager Dan Silva, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
