Houston Astros starter Matt Emery hurled his team past the New York Yankees, 5-2. Earning his 32nd save for Houston was Guillermo Padron. Houston now owns a record of 69-64.

The Yankees had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Astros going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the four-time Gold Glove Award winner Kyle Stewart came to the plate. Stewart hit a 2-run double on a full count sinker from New York hurler Josh Morgan. It was Stewart's 26th double of the year.

In postgame comments to the Houston Citizen, Emery said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
