Brownfield Shines in 6-3 Seattle Win
|
A 5-RBI performance from the 2095 Rookie of the Year Award winner John Brownfield helped the Seattle Mariners beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-3. Mike Hartnagel got the save, his 20th in 27 chances. The first-place Mariners now have a win-loss record of 86-46.
Juan Aranda, the Seattle right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2, Mariners. For the game, Aranda was 1-5.
"We take it day by day here," said Brownfield, "and today was a good one for us."
