Guardians Slap 7-4 Loss on Houston
|
Cleveland right-hander Bobby Quinn pitched his team to victory over the Houston Astros at Progressive Field. The final score was 7-4. Cleveland is now 46-86, while Houston is 77-57.
The Guardians got an important contribution from catcher Chris Pineiro, who in the bottom of the third hit a curveball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 16th double of the season and put the Guardians ahead, 4-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Guardians manager Danny Jaime. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
