Rangers Coast to 11-2 Victory
The Texas Rangers pasted the Washington Nationals with a convincing 11-2 defeat at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Diego Barrera was a prime factor in the Texas win. He went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Pat Yarnall got the win, improving to 6-8. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The 4th-place Rangers now have a record of 65-67.

John Parry had a big 2-run double for the Rangers in the bottom of the first inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a cutter from Jesus Duran, who is tied for 7th in the NL in quality starts with 14, and swatted a double to right. It was his 38th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.

Washington manager Doug Graff called the blowout loss "a real dud."
