St. Louis Gets 6-5 Win Versus Texas in 10
The St. Louis Cardinals outlasted the Texas Rangers, 6-5, in 10 innings. Rich Rivas provided some punch at the plate for St. Louis. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win went to Ray Blasetti in relief, making him now 3-0. Josh Payne took the loss for Texas. John Dunn got credit for the save for St. Louis. It was his 1st of the year.

St. Louis needed the clutch hitting of Chad Gutshall to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cardinals on top, 6-5. For the game, Gutshall had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Gutshall told the St. Louis Times.
