Pirovano drives in 4 runs in Washington Win
The 13-4 Washington win over Milwaukee was due in large part to Matthias Pirovano. The Nationals center fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Washington starter Jason Elkins was credited with the win after throwing 94 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The setback makes Milwaukee 46-86.

Pirovano contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Washington in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Pirovano took a sinker from Ivan Gonzales and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Nationals to leap in front, 3-1.

"Bad day," Milwaukee manager Danny Post said. "New day tomorrow."
