Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Astros
|
The Houston Astros got a magnificent effort from pitcher Mark Gaither, who kept Seattle hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Astros win at Minute Maid Park. Houston reliever Graham Burch was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Jose Rebolloso took the loss. The loss makes Seattle 86-47.
Houston won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Jose Rebolloso on the mound for Seattle, designated hitter Alex Perez hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Astros fans to their feet.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Gaither said after the game.
