Big Day for Taylor in 3-2 Mets Win
|
The New York Mets relied on the hitting of shortstop Ryan Taylor to stop the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2. For the game, Taylor slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Luis Manzano got the save, the 3rd for him this season. New York occupies last place in the National League East Division at 49-84.
With New York leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Taylor hit a fastball from Erik Roth for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 3-0.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Taylor told the New York Daily.
