Keith Bundy helped his team muscle past the Houston Astros, 5-2. In the game, the Seattle designated hitter went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Gary Kennedy was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 16 save opportunities. With the win, the Mariners improved to 87-47.
Seattle grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, John Brownfield delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 1-0 in favor of the Mariners.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Seattle skipper Jamie Clark.
