Chicago Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
Good production from first baseman Chad Gutshall helped the St. Louis Cardinals topple the Chicago Cubs, 7-6. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 7-7. Jason Romanchik was credited with the save for St. Louis, his 16th of the season.
With no one out in the top of the seventh, Rich Rivas had a game-changing hit. The Cardinals left fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Andrew Gray, making the score 7-5, St. Louis.
"This losing is getting old," said Chicago manager Vin Calia.
