Szilagyi Now 9-13 Following 5-3 Win
|
Los Angeles pitcher Fred Szilagyi did his part in helping his team beat the Texas Rangers, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Tony Sanchez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 32nd save. The Angels saw their record improve to 61-73.
Szilagyi, a native of La Feria, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Texas hitters off-balance, while giving the Angels 7 quality innings. Szilagyi threw 101 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 8.
"When Fred executes, it really doesn't matter what the other lineup is," said Los Angeles field general Matt Moore.
